Family Therapy Santa Monica, Inc.
ABOUT
BARI BERKOWITZ, LMFT

With over 28 years of experience, I have helped individuals navigate life transitions, heal unresolved trauma, and create healthier relationships with themselves and others. I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), approaches that are particularly effective in treating trauma, codependency, and relational wounds.
Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, and straightforward. I believe meaningful change happens when insight is combined with practical tools and a supportive therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help clients identify longstanding patterns, develop greater self-awareness, and create lasting change.
My extensive training in family systems helps clients understand how early experiences and multigenerational patterns continue to influence their lives today. Together, we work to uncover these patterns and develop healthier ways of responding.
I have worked at renowned treatment centers including Hazelden Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage and The Meadows in Malibu, where I specialized in treating trauma, codependency, and substance and process addictions.
I offer in-person sessions in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, and secure telehealth appointments for residents of California.
Therapy is a collaborative process. During our first sessions, we will identify what matters most to you and create a treatment plan tailored to your goals, needs, and readiness for change.
